In a globalised world, young people are not only affected by political decisions at a national level. Therefore DUF works to defend young peoples interests at a European level.
DUF aims to

Through participation in several national committes as well as a membership of the European Youth Forum, DUF works to defend the interests of young people at a European level.
- Gather knowledge on young peoples view on Europe
DUF regularily makes surveys on young peoples opinions on and interest in Europe and the development of the european institutions. The last survey from 2007 showed that young people are very interested in European politics but that they do not believe to have enough knowledge on the EU to be able to participate in the EP elections.
The European Youth Forum (YFJ)
DUF is a member of the European Youth Forum (YFJ). An interest organisation for national youth councils and European youth organisations in Europe.
