Background information
Since 2005 DUF has been working on a pilot programme for children and youth from Denmark and the MENA-region. We are investigating possibilities for cooperation between organizations and among people with different backgrounds.
We believe that children and young people are the leaders of tomorrow. By saying that, we believe that young people have the ability to make a difference, to be agents of change in their respective society meeting the challenges with open minds. We therefore wish to empower children and young people.
DUF intends that children and young people all over the world will get a higher level of intercultural understanding and get skilled in diversity management – at least this competence is highly requested in many of our member organizations’ national work for the inclusion of ethnic minority groups in Denmark.
Creating cross-cutting activities between international work in the MENA-region and national work for tolerance and diversity will be very beneficial.
DUF carries the vision to prepare the organizations to meet with children and youth organizations cross borders and to implement experiences from the cooperation also in a national context. Conferences, meetings, booklets, films, camps, seminars can be concrete steps.
