Communication and dialogue in international partnerships
Team up with your partner-organization and spend an evening exploring how dialogue – a special form of communication where participants actively seek deeper mutual understanding - can strengthen the collaboration in your international partnership.
Which values guide the collaboration in your partnership? How do you communicate and how do you take decisions together? These are important questions to tackle with your partner organization at any time. The Covid-19 pandemic has made it perhaps even more important to be aware of how you communicate with each other. Misunderstandings can easily occur when lockdowns make it difficult for you to meet in person. Having to rely solely on video-calls and e-mails for an extended period of time mean that the deeper dialogues that inspire us to think in new ways, or makes us understand each other better, may be skipped.
This workshop is about dialogue in international partnership projects. It is inspired by the methods developed through DUF’s Ambassadors for Dialogue project, and it will be co-facilitated by members of the Egyptian ambassadors for dialogue team.
At this 3-hour online workshop you will:
- Get an introduction to dialogue as a value and a method
- Sharpen your dialogical skills together
- Gain inspiration on how to strengthen dialogue in your international partnership
Target group:
The workshop is targeted to volunteers and employees who are engaged in an international partnership project under DUFs international pool. The workshop works best if you team up with members of your partner-organization and attend the workshop together.
