Are you curious whether an international project could be something for your organisation? And would you like to learn more about how to start a partnership with a Ukrainian youth organisation? Then join us for the DUF activity ‘Engage: Ukraine’ in 2026.
The Engage activity is designed for those who want to become more engaged internationally. During the activity you will receive training and guidance in international project work. Together, we will travel to a seminar in Poland, where you will meet the Ukrainian youth organisation you wish to collaborate with, followed by a seminar in Denmark, where you will receive support to write an application together. DUF’s international advisers will therefore guide you through the entire process from finding a Ukrainian partner organisation to preparing an application for DUF’s International Pool.
The activity consists of a preparatory meeting in Copenhagen and two seminars (one in Poland and one in Denmark) which will take place at different points throughout the year.
At the preparatory meeting, you will be introduced to international opportunities and project tools. With guidance from DUF, you will identify potential partner organisations to contact before the seminar in Poland.
You will gain:
- The opportunity to find a partner organisation in Ukraine
- International guidance, sparring, and project tools
- Insight into the Ukrainian context and basic skills in development-focused project work
- New competencies and inspiration to strengthen your own organisation through international engagement
- A network of volunteers and organisations interested in developing international partnerships in Ukraine
Practical information and dates
- 7 March – Preparatory meeting
Introduction to DUF’s international pool, partnerships, and how to contact a Ukrainian youth organisation.

Who can apply?
The target group is volunteers in DUF’s member organisations who want to start a partnership with a Ukrainian youth organisation supported by DUF’s International Pool—and who have the support of their national organisation. You can apply whether you are completely new to international work or already have experience from other countries but need support to get started in Ukraine.
You must select 2–3 primary participants who will take part in the entire programme (including travel). Additionally, you may register up to three more participants who can join the course days in Denmark. We recommend this, as it is beneficial to form a project group early in the process.
Price: Participation is free of charge for member organisations. DUF covers transportation costs in connection with the preparatory meeting in Denmark, as well as all costs related to the two seminars in Poland and Denmark.
