Future Agents NOW
Future Agents NOW was an EU-funded project, aimed at strengthening youth participation in multilateral fora through the establishment and strengthening of youth delegate programmes.
The project was managed by DUF, in cooperation with the national youth councils of Finland and Estonia. The project started in 2021 and concluded in 2024.
After the Future Agents NOW project concluded, a follow-up project called Representing Youth was launched. This project focused on strengthening the national engagement of youth delegate programmes. As part of the project, a brief guide for youth delegates on how to succesfully conduct national activities was produced. The Representing Youth project is also EU-funded and is managed by DUF in cooperation with the national youth councils of Finland and Austria.
Key results

A set of minimum standards for European youth delegate programmes to the UN was produced. These standards provide a list of key characteristics, which are necessary to be met, in order to ensure quality youth delegate programmes across the European region.
- The Global Youth Voices report was produced. The report maps the functioning of youth delegate programmes to the UN in 27 differents countries.
- Future Agents NOW produced the publication: ‘Practical Guide for Youth Delegates to the United Nations: Tips from Fellow Youth Delegates’. This provides practical advise to Youth Delegates to the United Nations, based on the experience of the Youth Delegates that have come before them.
- A virtual training on youth delegate programmes was developed. The training is targted to thos aiming to start a new youth delegate programme or improve their existing one.
