People’s Summit:
The purpose of the groups participation is to use the People’s Summit as a training ground for practicing dialogue, debate skills, democratic confidence and courage and gain experience with making your voice heard. We will travel there as a group, attend different events together and plan and see our own events through.
The People’s Summit describes itself as a place where…:
“Citizens and decision-makers meet up at Folkemødet in beautiful surroundings and engage in dialogue. At Folkemødet we strengthen the danish democracy and during the three days we care about each other and increase the understanding among us. Folkemødet are created in co-operation with political parties, grass roots and different associations and companies. Everyone contributes with interesting debates, presentations, cultural events, speeches, workshops and much more. At Folkemødet we find the solutions to the challenges of our joint society and gets inspired by each other. Folketmødet is a physical setting and a gathering point. It is a democratic ambition. Folkemødet is one of the biggest democratic events in Denmark. It is conversation, participation, and community”.
The three events that you will create on Act on Democracy are already themed. The content and format of each event is up to you as participants, but it must be under these broad themes.
- Youth fighting for democracy.
- Solidarity and dialogue between Danish and Ukrainian Youth
- Hopes & Dreams of Youth in Ukraine
